Woodwave

I love the asymmetrical forms of water running around stones in a stream, the undulations of a banner flowing in the wind, and the ocean surf. Those images informed the creation of this sculpture.

Lightning

This piece is an abstraction of the awesome and beautiful event in nature, a bolt of electricity.

Espiral

Means spiral in Spanish. In the southwest desert, we have what we call "dust devils". They are wind blowing in a circle thrusting dust high into the air. While not a perfect spiral, this represents the turbulence caused by those phenomena in nature.

Philadelphia sculpture

This piece does not represent the city literally. It is an abstract form that I dedicated to this fascinating metropolis. It is named for the city where it was first exhibited.

Jive

My passion for listening to and playing music subconsciously influences all my work. This piece seems to have the movement of a riff, a musical phrase, repeated in a jazz tune.

El Toro

A gentle, flowing design reminiscent of the strong, stately male animal, El Toro, the bull. This form can easily be modified to create numerous new designs.

Rukaruka

Having lived in East Africa of two years, I learned to converse in Swahili. Rukaruka means to dance. This form can easily be modified to create numerous new designs.

Over the Moon

On rare occasions on a clear night you may see a bird fly in front of the moon. It is what my wife suggested when she first saw this piece. Other viewers of the piece may make different associations, which I encourage however, I like this title.
